Rehabilitation
Shields Nursing Centers offer a state-of-the-art rehabilitation program: physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Our program is built around physical agent modalities – the same medical devices that have been used for 30 years with Olympic athletes to facilitate recovery and improve performance. They include Ultrasound, Diathermy, Electrical Stimulation, Patterned Electrical Neuromuscular Stimulation (PENS) and Omnicycle.
Our specialized rehabilitation programs are implemented in conjunction with Accelerated Care Plus (ACP), a specialty rehabilitation provider serving over 2500 skilled nursing facilities throughout the United States.
Our professional team of licensed, full-time geriatric therapists offers individualized therapeutic physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy designed to meet the needs of each resident. With an emphasis on teamwork, our therapists work closely with the resident and the resident’s family, physician, nursing staff, social services personnel and other members of the facility staff, in a coordinated approach to care. Our goal is to return the patient to his/her highest possible level of functioning. (Read Our Success Stories.)
